Truman Capote

(1924 - 1984)

The publication of Truman Capote’s first novel Other Voices, Other Rooms in 1948 caused the literary world to praise his prose and gossip about his provocative author photograph on the dust jacket. His best-known work is the novel In Cold Blood—sometimes called the first nonfiction novel—which recounts the story of a quadruple murder in Kansas in 1959.
