Gary Paulsen

Between 1966 and 1976, Gary Paulsen published nearly forty books and close to two hundred articles and short stories. A friend gave him some sled dogs in the late 1970s, and he soon took up the hobby around the same time he turned exclusively to writing young adult novels, among them Dogsong and Hatchet.
