Giorgio Vasari

(1511 - 1574)

While Giorgio Vasari is best known for his work of biographical history, Lives of the Most Eminent Painters, Sculptors, and Architects, which he dedicated to Cosimo de’ Medici, he was also a painter and architect, composing a cycle of frescoes in the Palazzo Vecchio and designing the Uffizi Gallery.
