Diane Ackerman

Diane Ackerman is a writer and naturalist, best known for her essays and nonfiction books focused on nature. She wrote The Zookeeper’s Wife, about a couple who saved a zoo in Warsaw during World War II, and The Human Age: The World Shaped by Us, about how humans have treated earth like a Playmobil set. Ackerman has also published several books of poetry, including I Praise My Destroyer.
