Rainer Rene Adelmann von Adelmannsfelden

The German lawyer Rainer Rene Adelmann von Adelmannsfelden founded an organization that, via a loophole in German law, allowed parents to adopt an unconceived baby. He later trafficked asylum seekers to Germany, proposing to have them pay by donating their organs, and was convicted of providing them with false papers and put on probation. When German names appeared in public bankruptcy records during the 1980s, Adelmannsfelden wrote a letter manipulating them into donating their kidneys: “Though you are not physically ill, legally it is as if you have AIDS. If you lack the courage for a burglary, bank robbery, or life abroad, then we have another solution for you to consider.”
