Alex Ross

In 1996, at the age of twenty-eight, Alex Ross began his tenure as music critic for The New Yorker. He claims to be nearing completion on Wagnerism, his next book. “Hitler is dead,” he posted about his progress on his website, “and the story is therefore winding down.” He is the author of The Rest Is Noise: Listening to the Twentieth Century (2007) and Listen to This (2011).
