Tsitsi Dangarembga

Born in Rhodesia in 1959, Tsitsi Dangarembga published her debut novel, Nervous Conditions, in 1988. Her novels The Book of Not and This Mournable Body continue the story started in her debut, which was named one of the hundred books that have changed the world by the BBC. Along with writing fiction, she is also a playwright and a filmmaker. Her 1996 film, Everyone’s Child, was the first feature to be directed by a black Zimbabwean woman.
