Betsy DeVos

The eldest child of a billionaire industrialist and sister of the founder of Blackwater, Betsy DeVos worked in local Republican politics and raised money and lobbied for charter and Christian schools in her home state of Michigan before President Donald Trump appointed her secretary of education in 2016. During her tenure, she rolled back many federal civil rights protections, as well as regulations concerning for-profit colleges.
