James Ellroy

Born in Los Angeles, James Ellroy is the author of many works of crime fiction, including L.A. Confidential, The Black Dahlia, and American Tabloid. “I am a master of fiction,” he once told the New York Times. “I am also the greatest crime writer who ever lived. I am to the crime novel in specific what Tolstoy is to the Russian novel and what Beethoven is to music.”
