Alicia Gaspar de Alba

Born in El Paso, Alicia Gaspar de Alba is a founding faculty member and former chair of the UCLA César E. Chávez Department of Chicana/o Studies. Her eleven books include a collection of her scholarly essays on the “bad woman” stereotype, a novel about Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz, and historical fiction set during the New England witchcraft trials.
