Victor Heiser

(1873 - 1972)

After graduating from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia in 1897, Victor Heiser devoted himself to studying tropical diseases and leprosy, circling the globe seventeen times as the associate director of the International Health Division of the Rockefeller Foundation. His best-selling book was published in 1936. He died in New York City at the age of ninety-nine in 1972.
