Gustave Le Bon was a French psychologist best known for his study of mob mentality, The Crowd: A Study of the Popular Mind. A polymath, he had many interests, including inventing recording instruments, training horses, studying intra-atomic energy, and hating socialism. He died at the age of ninety in Paris.
