Vince Lombardi

(1913 - 1970)

In 1959 Vince Lombardi became head coach and general manager of the Green Bay Packers, a team whose past-season record was 1–10–1. In the next nine years, he won five NFL championship titles with a record of 98–30–4. He famously said, “Winning is not a sometime thing: it’s an all-the-time thing…Winning is a habit.”
