Scott Rettberg

A professor of digital culture at the University of Bergen in Norway and a cofounder of the Electronic Literature Organization, Scott Rettberg spent a year campaigning alongside twelve other academics in a World of Warcraft guild nicknamed the Truants, an experience he wrote about in a paper titled “Corporate Ideology in World of Warcraft.”
