Wang Gai

(c. 1650 - c. 1710)

A painter in Nanking, Wang Gai compiled The Mustard Seed Garden Manual of Painting with his brothers. The book was massively influential in inspiring painters, guiding the forms that trees, landscapes, and people took on canvases and paper in China, Japan, and Korea.
