Steve Albini

Along with his other bands—including Big Black and Shellac—Steve Albini was a founding member of Rapeman, named after a Japanese comic-book hero. The band’s performances were often met with protests. “There have been better names,” said Albini, “but it’s still just a band name.” He runs a recording studio, Electric Audio, in Chi­cago.
