The son of President George Herbert Walker Bush, George W. Bush was sworn into office on January 1, 2001. After starting wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, Bush ended his second U.S. presidential term in 2008, after which he retired to his Texas ranch and began painting portraits of international figures like Felipe Calderon and Vladimir Putin.
