Ted Chiang

The winner of four Hugo awards and four Nebula awards, Ted Chiang lives in Bellevue, Washington, where he works as a technical writer. Before writing his 1998 short story “Story of Your Life,” the basis for the 2016 film Arrival, he spent five years reading about linguistics. His second collection of short stories, Exhalation, was published in 2019.
