David Cronenberg

Many of the Toronto-born writer, director, and producer David Cronenberg’s films belong to the genre of “body horror,” in which physical transformations, illnesses, and accidents are viscerally intertwined with psychological drama. His 1996 film Crash was awarded the jury prize at Cannes; his other work includes the films Videodrome, The Fly, and A History of Violence and the novel Consumed.
