James Morton Turner

James (Jay) Morton Turner is a professor of environmental studies at Wellesley College. He is the author of The Promise of Wilderness: A History of American Environmental Politics Since 1964, co-author of The Republican Reversal: Conservatives and the Environment from Nixon to Trump, and author of Charged: A History of Batteries and Lessons for a Clean Energy Future. His research and teaching center on U.S. environmental history, politics, and policy.
