Ken Kesey

(1935 - 2001)

A hero of the sixties counterculture, Ken Kesey was an all-American youth who, while at the University of Oregon, pledged Beta Theta Pi fraternity, won a thespian award, and married his high-school sweetheart. Immortalized in Tom Wolfe’s Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test, the author first tried LSD while participating in a drug experiment at a veterans hospital in Menlo Park, California.
