Kublai Khan

(1215 - 1294)

The Mongols called Kublai the Wise Khan. Marco Polo said he was “the greatest lord the world has ever known.” Kublai Khan reunited China when he conquered Song China, but he was also regarded for his clemency as a ruler. He moved his capital to Beijing, where he adopted many Chinese methods.
