Ursula K. Le Guin

(1929 - 2018)

Born in Berkeley, California, Ursula K. Le Guin was a prolific writer whose career spanned nearly sixty years. She preferred being called simply a novelist, rather than being assigned a genre by someone else, warning: “Don’t shove me into your damn pigeonhole, where I don’t fit, because I’m all over. My tentacles are coming out of the pigeonhole in all directions.”
