Felice Romani

Felice Romani wrote librettos for Gioacchino Rossini, Giuseppe Verdi, and Vincenzo Bellini. During his successful career from 1813 to 1855, the bel canto opera as an art form declined in popularity so much that, nearing his death, Romani could not find a publisher for a collection of his complete librettos.
