Adrienne Mayor is a folklorist, historian of ancient science, and research scholar at Stanford University. Her books include The Poison King: The Life and Legend of Mithradates, Rome’s Deadliest Enemy and Gods and Robots: Myths, Machines, and Ancient Dreams of Technology.
