He is the author of When Einstein Walked with Gödel: Excursions to the Edge of Thought, Why Does the World Exist?: An Existential Detective Story, and Stop Me If You’ve Heard This: A History and Philosophy of Jokes. He is a member of the Lapham’s Quarterly editorial board.
