Jürgen Osterhammel

Jürgen Osterhammel is a professor of modern and contemporary history at the University of Konstanz. He has been awarded the Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Prize and the Toynbee Prize. His books include Unfabling the East: The Enlightenment’s Encounter with Asia and The Transformation of the World: A Global History of the Nineteenth Century. He lives in Freiburg, Germany.
