Lucy Sante

Born to a middle-class Belgian family in 1954, the essayist Lucy Sante is the author of two books on New York City’s past, Low Life and Evidence. Her other works include The Other Paris, Maybe the People Would Be the Times, Kill All Your Darlings: Pieces 1990–2005, The Factory of Facts, and Folk Photography. She teaches at Bard College in New York.
