William Carlos Williams

(1883 - 1963)

Williams Carlos Williams received his MD in 1906, published his first book of poetry in 1909, and started a medical practice in Rutherford in 1910. He delivered over three thousand babies and twelve volumes of poetry in his lifetime. Pictures from Brueghel and Other Poems posthumously won the Pulitzer Prize in 1963.
