Marina Tsvetaeva

(1892 - 1941)

After the Bolsheviks consolidated their power, the poet Marina Tsvetaeva left the Soviet Union in 1922 and moved to Berlin, Prague, and then Paris, publishing her collection of poems After Russia in 1928. She returned to the Soviet Union in 1939 to be with her husband and daughter, and committed suicide there two years later.
